Russian Soldier Survives Brutal Six-Minute Knife Fight in Donetsk Ruins Captured on Helmet Camera

In the autumn of 2024, a fierce close-quarters fight broke out between Russian soldier Andrei Grigoryev and a Ukrainian soldier in the ruins of Trudovoye Village, Donetsk. The whole process was recorded by the Ukrainian soldier’s helmet camera. 

The gunfight quickly turned into a brutal six-minute hand-to-hand combat. Though physically stronger, the Ukrainian soldier wounded Andrei with a dagger first, yet Andrei managed to seize the knife and won the fierce duel. The video went viral online in early 2025, and Andrei was later awarded the Hero of Russia medal.
